In Papercraft, ovals, circles, and triangles are layered to make fish, and in Printing, rectangular erasers press paint onto paper to look like city buildings. Details are added with pen. Photographs effectively show what each stage should look like, but there are no action shots: no hands showing crafters how to hold a brush or apply paint to a potato for printing. Materials used are commonplace, with some inventive reuse of household items (such as printing with bubble wrap). These are fine books to hand to budding artist, but the layering technique used so frequently in these volumes may prove frustrating when wet media is involved-watching paint dry is no joke for young crafters.α(c) Copyright 2014. Real deal, life-saving info

I've read this book twice. EJ has a unique ability to break down complex things in a way that easy to understand. My favorite chapter is "A Hero's Death". AMAZING. EJ speaks truth. And that isn't always easy to swallow. The fact is we live in uncertain times. And this book will help you think about your daily life. And become more of a "Sheepdog" than a "sheep." There's tons of practical, everyday advice too. I highly recommend you pick up a copy of this book. And if you can, attend one of EJ's "Modern Warrior" live firearms training events -- life changing.

I would recommend the book. I have read several other books on similar subjects. This type of book starts me thinking about the "What If's" in life. The great thing about this book is that it has lots of information and is a fast read.

Not much actionalbe information.

While the advertisement sounded good, the content is quite sub-par. There was little in this book that anyone of us would now know. This is especially true in regard to actionable advice. I don't think most of us need to have someone explain to us the reasons that would drive dangerous behavior. What we need to know is how to respond to those behaviors. This book was light on those facts.
The style in which it was written was entertaining but as far as providing information that allows for me and my family to be safer, it was not very helpful.

Great ending from an amazing series

Like the first two books in the series, I loved this one too. It was full of action, conflict, revelations, and sadness. Unlike the first two books, this one was written in alternating POVs between Eviana and Kain, which made me very happy because I get to see how Kain views things. *love*

Still rooting for Kain and finding out that he has always loved Eviana even after she left him at the altar and he eventually started dating Carissa, made me love him more. I like Graham too, I like him more than Brendan I guess, but he's one of the bad guys! I guess he's a guy I like to hate..?

This book is where all the action is. All creatures mentioned in the whole series are in this and it is a war that ends in victory. I'm not sure if I liked how things ended up, it felt like there was no other choice but she did realize that it was him all along, right? I'll just be happy with how it ended. :)

I don't know what else to say or how to review this even further. I don't want to come out as just re-telling the story or giving a summary of it because that's not exactly a review. Can't I just say that I loved the whole series and I recommend it to everyone who loves merfolk stories?

AMAZING!!!

I loved the whole series, but Arise was by far my favorite book. The author does an amazing job of closing the series. Eviana has really grown up since Betrayal and comes into her own as a leader. The imagery provided was spectacular allowing me to completely immerse myself in the story. Twists and turns along the way and just when you think the story is predictable...not so much :) New characters combined with a few OMG moments kept me from putting this book down. LOVED IT!!! The only problem is...I totally want to more! :)

Beautiful ending

Let me begin by saying what a way to end a trilogy! What a touching, compelling novel!
I am truly addicted to these characters now. Amber Garr created such an amazing world, with such realistic, heartfelt characters

Eviana really seems doomed in this final installment nothing her and the group do seems to work against the great force of Lucian. Also many of their allies turn on them; it would seem their chances of winning were dwindling greatly. Will the good be able to overcome the evil or will Eviana be forced to marry Graham and do Lucian’s evil bidding forever?

So in this book Eviana has finally realized she has feelings for Kain, which is great! At least I think so, as you all know from my other reviews. I was absolutely dying for Eviana and Kain to get together. However the issue in this book is Lucian is still holding Eviana captive and Kain’s first attempt to rescue her falls through.

Kain and the council then gather the masses to create a new plan to help Eviana, unfortunately for Kain, Brendan becomes a part of this plan. Now in the second book I was very unhappy with Brendan but I have to say he redeemed himself in this final book. I won’t say how because I don’t want to give away too much. I loved the action in this book; there was definitely no shortage of it. I also really loved the plot. It was a very emotional and moving end to the wonderful series.

I seriously fell in love with the character’s Amber created and the way she tells a story.

The ending to this book was just magical. I couldn’t have pictured a better ending to this series. I definitely think Amber did a perfect job with all three novels. They are all amazing and I still think they should make these into movies 

I was beyond impressed with this book and Amber has a lifelong fan in me.

The former's seminal novel, The Book of Khalid sought to fuse Arabic and European literary traditions in search of a civilizational synthesis, whereas the latter found success by mixing Hindu, Christian, mystical, and English Romantic ideas into a popular spiritualism. Hassan then considers Arab immigrant life-writing, ranging from autobiographies by George Haddad and Abraham Rihbany to memoirs of exile by the Egyptian-born Leila Ahmed and Palestinian refugees like Fawaz Turki and Edward Said. Hassan considers issues of representation in looking to how Arab immigrant writers like Ramzi Salti and Rabih Alameddine use homosexuality to reflect on Arab typecasting. Not a bad book.

This book is certainly thick with as many pages it has. I really enjoyed the book. I did not know as much about health until I read this book. This book provides sample lesson plans, goals, explanations of certain diseases,and an interesting behavior contract. This contract allows the student to create a contract to improve his/her health usually in a month's time frame.
Also, this book provides national standards with national contact phone numbers and addresses. This is great because since education now is really standards based, a teacher can reference this book for standars in creating health-centered or health-enriched lesson plans across the curriculum.
I would have liked to see it a litlle more user-friendly as far as navigating it. Also, would consider as a refernce book for educators and not a book for mild reading.

This textbook is my textbook for a course I am taking in college. I am in school to be a health teacher, and gym teacher. The book is layed out nicely for an elementary school teacher where you only teach 1, maybe 2 grades. In the back of the book, there are teaching stragies that help teach the content chapters. My problem with that is the layout. Instead of listing the content chapter for example..."Nutrition" then listing lessons for grades 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.... they chose to list Grade 1--Nutrition, Personal Health, Growth and Development, Consumer Health, etc. Grade 2--Nutrition, Personal Health, Growth and Development, Consumer Health...etc

BEWARE - Extreme Political Correctness Lies Within

I was amazed to see just how many political opinions and factual errors could be contained in one book. While obstensibly a Health book, Ms. Meeks has prepared nothing less than a treatise on how to indoctrinate our youth to the current "party line."
For example, we learn only that global warming is a scientifically proven fact, as true as gravity. No mention is given to the real fact that a majority of scientists do not believe people are changing the climate of the earth. We are not told that data showing warming of the earth for the past ten years does not exist. She fails to include the fact that computerized climate models from the 1980's, which started the whole "global warming" scare, predicted that by 2000 we would be starving due to heat-induced crop failures.
Likewise, second hand smoke is said to be a real health hazard. Ms. Meeks seems to be ignoring the majority of studies that show an inverse or non-existant relationship between exposure to environmental tobacco smoke and health problems. She selectively picks and chooses data which supports her position and uses them as facts.
Finally, her most glaring problem is when she deals with the "health" issue of guns and gun control. First graders are told: "Stay away from anyone who carries a gun." There is no distinction drawn between policemen, parents who hunt, or criminals, and there is no mention in the text of the Constitution of the United States that guarantees the right of citizens to bear arms.
Avoid this text and strive to teach your students to really think for themselves. This text only furthers the dumbing-down of our future leaders.

The chapters focus on occupational safety and consumer issues and examine the circumstances under which exposure is likely to occur.

About the Author
Since 1984 Dr. Kevin Woodward's experience has been centred on all aspects of the evaluation and regulation of veterinary drugs, particularly from the point of view of safety evaluation, toxicology, user risk assessment and pharmacovigilance. He was a member of the Committee for Veterinary Medicinal Products (CVMP) until August 1996 and Chairman of its Safety of Residues Working Group from 1991 until 1996. He was a member of the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) and an invited expert to the Committee for the years 1988-1996. He has also been leader of the UK delegation to the Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Food from 1993 to 1996. From September 1997 until September 1999, and again from 1999 until November 2001, he chaired IFAH-Europe's (formerly FEDESA's) Technical and Regulatory Committee and was elected to the Board of Directors of FEDESA in February 2002 and to the Board of Directors of NOAH (ex-officio), also in February 2002. Since 2008, he has been the Regulatory Officer for the EAVPT.
